The Haras du Rezidal is a family breeding establishment founded in 1975, where the passion for equine breeding has been passed down from generation to generation. We cultivate a deep passion for breeding show jumping horses, striving each year to produce healthy, high-performing horses that are well-adjusted.

1st line of the Rezidal — Vaya Con Dios, also known as Optiebeurs Concern

Redeemed at the end of her sporting career, Vaya Con Dios, also known as Optiebeurs Concern, has made history with an impressive record. She notably won the Volvo World Cup in Antwerp under the saddle of Albert Voorn. She is also the full sister of Big Ben, a famous horse with an impressive record, having competed in the Olympic Games, and won the Pan American Games in 1987 and the Gothenburg Cup in 1988 and 1989!

Vaya Con Dios has given us three exceptional products: Joy du Rezidal, Koncern du Rezidal, and Happy-Easter du Rezidal.
 

Joy du Rezidal : 

Joy is the daughter of Eaton du Rezidal, the uterine brother of the legendary Milton, a true icon of show jumping under the saddle of John Whitaker. Milton, a double winner of the World Cup finals and a European medalist, made his mark on his era and remains one of the most emblematic horses in history today.

Through Eaton, Joy therefore passes on to her descendants the legacy of Milton, but also that of the unforgettable Big Ben through her mother.

This exceptional cross, bringing together two of the greatest champions of the late 20th century, is reflected in Joy's products: horses endowed with power, respect, a remarkable mentality, and outstanding sporting longevity.

Joy has been by far one of the most remarkable mares in our breeding programme.

By keeping this lineage at the stud, with broodmares like Carrera Rezidal Z (1m50) and young females from Quoncern Rezidal Z, we ensure the succession and prepare future generations of high-performing horses.


Selection and diversification,

We do not limit ourselves to a single strain and are not hesitant to enrich our breeding programme by regularly turning to other exceptional lines.
Among them, Bergamote Ste Hermelle, from a family known for producing top-level horses, has brought fresh and complementary blood to our breeding.
